BB:  For people that are not familiar with Ayurveda at all, what are five introductory practices they can do to include Ayurveda in their routine?

1. Begin with conscious deep breathing to develop concentration and your ability to meditate.   A simple practice is just to observe the flow of breath in your body while counting.

2. Wake up with the sunrise.  This will help maintain your circadian rhythm function and encourage a natural desire to go to sleep each night.

3. Observe your tongue each morning.  A healthy tongue is pink without residue.  A tongue with a white coating indicates food sensitivities and systemic toxins.

4. Observe your digestion. If digestion is healthy, you should have one complete bowel movement each morning.  If not, something is amiss.

5. Try eating your largest meal midday…as close to 2PM as possible.  This will help to maintain your weight, boost metabolism, and regulate your digestion.
