Editor’s Notes: Taking a Look Back at My Month

Holy smokes! March is flying by. Just 3 weeks ago it felt like I was hustling to get all ends met for our limited edition BeHealthful Retreat. While I am so excited for April and May (warmer weather fiiinally). March was a pretty darn good month! I was able to enjoy a stay-cation in Oakbrook thanks to Le Méridien, tried an impressive brunch at the Winchester, and tested out all kinds of goodies from new brands and companies.

I took a trip from the city to the burbs to enjoy a quick little getaway compliments of Le Méridien at their Oakbrook location. I received an aaaamazing aromatherapy massage from one of their top masseuses, was able to shop and have a girls day with my mom who lives near by at Oakbrook shopping center, and slept like a baby in their crisp and modern rooms.

I enjoyed my massage in their spa suites which felt super exclusive and luxe. I was able to take a steam and rest on a heated surface after the massage and felt SOO rejuvenated and relaxed for the rest of the day. I highly recommend you get a massage here when you have nothing else to do for the remainder of the day, because you will definitely fall into a blissful meditative zone.

I have also been on the hunt for their signature room scent LM100, which is DIVINE. I first picked up on their scent when I stayed at their Nice, France location. Ever since that trip I’ve been dying to buy their scent! Le Meridian is seriously one of my favorite hotels (especially since it’s international) and I always love staying there. If anyone is near the Oakbrook area I recommend popping in even if it’s  just to smell their aroma diffuser – seriously.

I also enjoyed a really fun media brunch at the Winchester Chicago not too long ago. I really wish I was able to take photos – but I had so much fun chatting with my media ladies that our phones were barely out (which is a good thing!). We munched on avocado toast, shaved brussels sprout salads, chilaquiles and all kinds of delicious fare. Their upstairs party room is perfect for a private brunch party with friends or any sort of celebration. Anything with bright natural light calls for a good time!

I also took a trip to Michigan this month to film a commercial at a Casino. It reminded me of my past life when my days were consumed with modeling and acting which brought back awesome memories – acting was definitely one of my passions that I still enjoy. So – hopefully it will be out soon and I can share it on BB!

When I arrived back from Michigan I was welcomed with a package from Chef Anthony Russo. Annnnd it was…gluten free pizza! Erm hello just what I want to munch on after a 48 hour shoot! Ladies remember, Balanced Babes always make room for comfort food days. Pizza is definitely one of my favorite comfort foods. Is it bad to say that I had the whole pizza in one sitting? Probably, but that’s ok – that’s what makes me BALANCED! I enjoyed the plain cheese pizza and surprisingly it was crisp and satisfying – not weird and cardboard-y like other gluten free pizza crusts.
