You Heard It Here First: A New Lymphatic Detox Method Via Your…Nether Regions

How do you “detox?”

Actually – back it up:  first I want to ask the question “What does detox mean to you”?

For many, it means ridding the body of accumulated toxins from food, the environment, products we use and more. For others, it means detoxing from harmful things like drugs and alcohol.

To me, the term “detox” means to help support the organs in my body that already naturally detox harmful pathogens that get accumulated. So this could be eating specific foods that have properties that support the health and function of these organs, to use intermittent fasting techniques to help support your digestive tract, and all sorts of tricks.

In previous articles, I’ve discussed things that support our natural detoxification process like:

BUT I’ve discovered yet another way to support our natural detoxification process, and I’m pretty sure that there isn’t a single sole in the US that uses this method *yet*, so you are hearing about it here first on Balanced Babe!

The Newest Trend in Lymphatic Detoxing: Perineum Detox Pack

This new method sounds wild if you’ve never heard of a “Derivative bath” before – but to be frank: you insert a frozen gel pack like this one from Bikun in your undies and simply sit on the pad until it becomes warm. SO you’re pretty much chillin’ your nether regions. The potential benefits include stimulating your lymphatic system which is responsible for eliminating pathogens in your body and strengthening your immune system, nervous system, and digestive system to help get things moving along and out.

“A Coochie cooch detox?” I thought, “Yes please!”. You know me, I’m always down to try the latest trend in wellness. Colon hydrotherapy? Check. Cryotherapy? Check. I like to be the guinea pig so that I could share my findings with you all here, and boy do I have some findings.

So let’s get down to the specifics – what exactly is a “derivative bath?

How does a perineum detox work?

Well it all comes down to our perineum area and groin AKA our nether regions. A large part of our lymphatic system surrounds our reproductive area, and this area also contains one of the highest concentrations of nerves. Typically, this area is always warm or hot due to us, you know, wearing pants.

When Bikun is applied, a thermal difference is created WHICH interestingly causes muscular contraction in our pelvic area. These contractions are then said by those who study derivative baths to stimulate the nervous, lymphatic and cardiovascular system which supports our natural detoxification process.

So that’s the shpeel in a nutshell.

What are the potential benefits?

So what are the potential benefits of this detoxification method? I did some research sleuthing and found a few articles on how a derivative bath like Bikun could help our allover wellness. Essentially, it is the temperature change in your groin that stimulates the nerves and lymphatic system down yonder and this change is what inspires the below effects in your body.  Let’s get to it:

  • Since it targets the pelvic area, which is one of the highest nerve-concentration body part we have, it directly stimulates this area. If you are into chakras, like I am, this area is considered the root chakra. The root chakra is linked to reproductive health and the stimulation of this area with temperature changes may help with our menstrual cycles.
  • It may boost blood circulation.
  • Elimination and digestion may be stimulated which could help rid our body of accumulated toxins, and could relieve constipation and bloating.
  • The process of using a cold compress like this may also boost metabolism and help our body rid itself of brown fat (the stubborn kind).
  • Sleep could be restored in a improved manner.

How do you use the Bikun Detox Pack?

It’s a simple process really. You place the gel pack in the freezer for a minimum of 30 minutes, place it in the microfiber, then insert it in your underwear *giggles* and sit on it while you watch TV or work until it is no longer cold. The end! You can also use it as many times a day as you’d like, every day if you wish, and the pack lasts for at minimum a year.

When I used it for the first time, I did feel the contractions.

I thought to myself, is this what giving birth feels like?! Most likely not. But it was definitely interesting to actual feel it doing its job.

I’ve been using Bikun for a few months and can tell you one thing, it does help me after a night of drinking. I use it in conjunction with a hot yoga practice, a day of juicing, and all my other remedies to help with a hangover. I will also say that I can also vouch for it working to help with digestion. BUT you should see for yourself! I’m happy to say that I have teamed up with Bikun to be their U.S. point of contact for all retail and wholesale sales. SO if you try it out and love it, and want to share this new and innovative way of detoxing in your online store, our fitness boutique, or wherever that may be, you can shoot me an email at: Sarah@SBSImage.com
