One Ingredient At Home Beauty Remedies

We all know that eating healthy obviously nourishes our body, and consuming certain foods has beauty benefits as well. Today, I want to talk about using food to brighten your locks, soften your cuticles, and whiten your teeth with these at home beauty remedies that I came across.

Even better? I found some one ingredient beauty remedies that I tried out and love.

lemon-juice
1. Lemon Juice to brighten your strands.

I like using this remedy during the summer months when I am lounging outside or sunbathing. Therefore, this remedy works best when it is a sunny day.
Take juice from a whole lemon and work it evenly through your hair. Let it sit in your hair while you are out in the sun for about 30 minutes. You might not notice a difference the first time, it usually takes a couple sessions for noticeable natural highlights.

2. Olive oil for cuticles

Use olive oil as a hot oil treatment for your cuticles. Heat the oil in the microwave for about 15-20 seconds. If it is too hot let it sit out for a bit to cool off, then dip your fingers in the bowl for 5-10 minutes. Your cuticles will be conditioned and super soft for days!

baking-soda

3. Baking Soda to whiten teeth:

Use baking soda on your toothbrush to buff and whiten your teeth. Dip your toothbrush in the baking soda so that all the bristles are covered. Brush your teeth for about 2-3 minutes, then rinse!

tea

4. Tea Bags to de-puff under eye bags.

Green tea or chamomile tea bags are great for this purpose. Steep the tea bags in hot water, let them cool, then place them on your eyes for about 5 minutes.

eggs

5. Eggs to moisturize your hair.

Using whole eggs is great to give your hair some extra moisture. I like using two whole eggs after I shampoo my hair in the shower and I leave it on between 2-3 minutes, then I rinse it out with water. I usually use eggs after I get my hair colored when it is especially brittle, but other than that this treatment is good to use about once a month.
