Quick and Easy Dairy Free Parfait

Did you know that dairy can cause inflammation in the body, increase acne flare ups,  and the buildup of mucus?  Because of this, there is a slew of new dairy substitute products, and one in particular has grabbed my attention: coconut yogurt.

Coconut yogurt is %100 dairy free, raw and vegan, it is cultured and contains a strong team of probiotics.  When I whip up this coconut yogurt parfait, I’m blending the benefits of probiotics, amino acids, and a powerhouse of vitamins and minerals from all the ingredients. If you usually have yogurt in the morning, this is a great substitute that will taste just as good, or even better. I personally like making this parfait in the evening as a dessert whenever I’m craving sweets (I will add a touch of organic honey). Get the recipe, it only takes about five minutes to make!

Ingredients
  • 1 cup coconut yogurt
  • 2 tbsp flax seed
  • 2 tbsp chia seed
  • 1 tbsp hemp seed
  • 1 tbsp bee pollen
  • 1/2 tbsp cacao powder
Instructions
  1. To achieve the “layered” effect like I did, scoop a dollop of coconut yogurt and place in the bottom of a glass cup. Then sprinkle a layer of flax seed over it. Continue this process: a powder/seed over the yogurt, until you fill the glass. Serve and enjoy!

If you are unfamiliar with hemp, flax, chia, or bee pollen. They are all super foods in the forms of tiny ground seeds or whole seeds (depending on how they are packaged). Hemp contains amino acids, chia seeds are packed with protein, flax seeds have omega 3, and bee pollen is a complete nutrient dense food which means it contains all nutrients a human needs. So what are you waiting for? Make your parfait!
