 Ayurveda 101

Ayurveda is a traditional form of medicine that is from India. It teaches us that we are part of nature…and that all of life is interdependent.  Each of us has an individual purpose, or Dharma.  In order to fully realize our Dharma, we have to have clear mind.  We use meditation & yoga to facilitate mental clarity.  It also teaches us that the body is a temple to be honored and to be kept healthy.  We do that through proper rest and activity, diet, yearly detoxification methods, exercise, and healthy relationships. Primarily, the body is kept healthy so that we can each ‘self-realize’ in this lifetime which means we should become our best self possible.  It is difficult to do that, when the physical body is not well.
