BB: What are your 5 tips for starting a detox?
1. Water, water, water! Water flushes toxins out of the body. As the temperatures rise we need to be drinking more water. I can’t emphasize it enough. If you are bored with water, try herbal teas or infuse your water with fruit and herbs!
2. Up your produce intake. Now that spring is here produce is abundant. Choose seasonal foods such as strawberries, peas, and asparagus.
3. Don’t forget your greens. Eat a variety of leafy green vegetables. They are high in fiber, water content, and antioxidants which eliminate free radicals from the body. I love to add fresh herbs to everything. Herbs are leafy greens too!
4.Get moving outside. It is finally getting warm outside. Take advantage of the warmth and do some outdoor activities such as walking, running, and hiking. Sweat out your toxins. A good workout is detoxifying for the mind as well.
5. List 3 things you are grateful for every day. Don’t forget that detoxing is about more than your body. Practicing gratitude will wring out your soul!
