BB: How do you maintain The Balanced Babe lifestyle?
Every Sunday evening, I set aside 15 minutes to plan out my upcoming workweek. I try to do it right before dinner so that I can relax during the evening and not think about work.
I also try to prioritize my top three items that I have to get done each day so I don’t overwhelm myself. I am a big believer in the 80/20 Pareto Principle that 20% of the input creates 80% of the result. I also have learned to start saying no to things which frees up a lot of time and makes me focus only on the activities that I am best at and really get excited about doing.
BB: How do you eat healthy when your schedule is so packed?
I can’t live without my morning smoothie. I have a Vitamix and throw in my greens, protein powder and berries. I have also found that salads are pretty easy to make when you have all the ingredients on hand. The most important part of eating healthy is to make sure that you have healthy food on hand for healthy eating throughout the week.
BB: What is a typical day’s meal plan like for you?
Breakfast: Morning smoothie with protein, spinach and berries
Snack: Almond Butter and Apple
Lunch: Salad with turkey, tomatoes and bell peppers
Afternoon snack: Blackberries and almonds
Dinner: Chicken breast, veggies and quinoa
BB: Tips for staying toned when you’re short on time?
When I am not in the third trimester of pregnancy (baby girl due in June!) I wake up every morning at 6am to workout. My favorite workouts are insanity and P90X. I find the more I workout, the more energy I have for my work and business. Actually, the time that I was most productive in my life was when I was training for a marathon! I have found that if I don’t do it first thing, I never do it. I also add a short walk to my day right after lunch so that I can get some fresh air and not vitamin D!
BB: What can we expect from you in the future?
You can expect to see more focus on what I love to do best and that is helping professional women get out of careers they hate and into careers they love.
