Vegan, Gluten-Free and Delicious Ingredients: Savour This Sauce


If you are intimidated to try a new dietary lifestyle like going  plant based or vegan, you are not alone. A significant amount of consumers have grown up their whole lives eating animal proteins,  processed foods, white pasta and bread, and canned goods with insane amounts of sugar. The thought of changing that habit can be scary, but can be overcome!

After a decade or so of this particular pattern, it is hard to break what is familiar to try something new, like changing your eating habits.  One of the top concerns I get from clients and friends is that they don’t know how to cook plant based meals that taste good. Everyone views healthy eating as steamed vegetables with olive oil – bland bland bland.

The key to transitioning from a meat based diet to a plant based diet is all about how you prepare and cook your foods, but most importantly how the meal tastes.  This can lead to another dilemma, you made steamed broccoli and soy beans, then doused it with Costco brand soy sauce that is exploding with chemicals and over 1,000 mg of sodium.  Back to square one. One of the ways you can eat healthy and make it taste GREAT is by finding natural and organic sauces and seasonings, which leads us to this amazing brand, Savour This Sauce.

I used my samples in a surplus of recipes this past week – I added the Pistachio Mint Pesto to bean and collard green soup (amazing), the Red Pepper Romesco to my baked goat cheese and eggplant roll ups, and the Thai Chile Cilantro mixed in with my vegan enchiladas. All added an abundance of flavor!

    The Pistachio Mint Pesto immediately caught my eye as well as my imagination! I'm imagining using it over pasta, in a Persian rice dish or most especially a new twist on Tabbouleh! Thai Chili Cilantro sounds like it would be sensational with pretty much any Mexican dish and as a base sauce for a Thai "Siam Macaroni" dish I've been trying to recreate at home... And I LOVE your idea about using the Red Pepper Romesco made of – roasted red peppers, sun dried tomatoes, apple cider vinegar, almonds, garlic salt and olive oil with Goat Cheese and Eggplant.
