One thing I know, if you want to grow your business you need to focus on digital marketing. This is why I have marketing maven Christina Giordano giving her tips on why social media is so crucial for business growth, as well as her own Balanced Babe lifestyle principles.
Christina started her own marketing consulting company, Christina Giordano Consulting, LLC, and represents small and growing businesses in the health and wellness industry, especially ones focused on holistic health. She is also the co-founder of Salient Fox. Please meet, Christina!
Hello all! My name is Christina Giordano. I live in the River North district of Chicago. The name of my business is Christina Giordano Consulting, LLC and I established it in August of 2013. I provide full-service strategic marketing and development to small business clients, primarily in the health, wellness and fitness industry.
BB: What type of marketing do you specialize in?
My speciality is social media! It’s ever-changing and so profoundly important to businesses these days-no matter the industry!
BB: Why is social media so important for growing a business in today’s world?
All of your customers are on-line researching you, inquiring about you, and you need to be a part of the conversation! These days, a business is only credible if they have a prominent and maintained digital presence.
BB: Being an entrepreneur, what obstacles did you come across while starting your business?
There are only so many hours in a day! I’ve recently hired an assistant to help me manage the day-to-day in order to keep up with my current clients and also focus on generating new business!
BB: What is the most rewarding aspect of having your own business?
The growth that I’ve been so lucky to witness is the most rewarding aspect. Not only has my business grown in less than a year, but I have grown as well.
BB: What advice do you have for others trying to start a new business?
Just do it. You’ve got nothing to lose. At the very least you tried. I read a quote today that said “You can never cross the ocean unless you have the courage to lose site of the shore.”
BB: What advice do you have for staying authentic on social media? How can you avoid the “self promoting” image which can drive potential customers or clients away?
Content is key. Spin what you already have and turn it into informational, educational or simply interesting posts that people will like and share. Posts during a single week should only be 20% promotional.
