Being A Balanced Babe: Running On Real Food

BB: On top of obviously being super fit,  how do you maintain The Balanced Babe lifestyle?

DM: Living The Balance Babe lifestyle has become second nature to me. It’s the only way to go! I think Sarah has it absolutely right, it’s ALL about balance! You have to enjoy life and have fun, along with all that healthy-schmethly stuff right?!

I eat really healthy Monday to Friday and mostly healthy on the weekends, but I never restrict my diet (life is too short, must eat cookies!). That’s what works for me. I train hard most days, but also have no qualms about taking a day to do absolutely nothing. I try to get to bed on time every night so I can fit it all in with energy to spare the next day. All that being said, without a positive outlook I think I’d go crazy with rush hour traffic, seemingly constantly cleaning the kitchen and all the other mundane errands we all have to do. My husband and I laugh a lot and have a lot of fun, we’re weird and silly and that helps me balance it all too.

[…]  “Keep your focus throughout the day with these tips: Having a solid meal plan, healthy food in the fridge and my workouts scheduled ahead of time really helps. I like to take time on Sundays to plan my week so I can focus on the day-to-day when the time comes. Recently, I’ve also taken to scheduling positive affirmations into my phone as little reminders during the day. It may be cheesy, but it’s such a great reminder and ya gotta work on that mental fitness too! I really believe in the power of gratitude, positive thinking, intention and all that spiritual good stuff. I also think writing down your goals and referring back to them often is so important to help keep your focus. Yes, I’m kind of obsessed with pretty notebooks. Okay, and coffee too. Coffee always helps.” Deryn of RunningonRealFood.com […]
